Artist’s Statement
Somatic memory.
My practice explores how the body retains memory, particularly in relation to trauma and lived experience. Using a single strand of my own hair as a drawing tool, I create delicate, repetitive marks that speak to the body’s quiet persistence.
The fragility of the line reflects the sensitivity of the body itself—its capacity to hold, protect, and remember what the mind may attempt to forget. Through this process, the act of painting becomes both intimate and meditative, tracing a space where memory is not fixed, but felt.
Through slow, meditative making, the work gives form to what is often invisible – held within the body, and within the bonds we form.
