Artist’s Statement
A passionate self-taught multidisciplinary artist, she engages in photography, painting, videography, sculpture, and body art. Her work examines themes of African spirituality, ancestral heritage, and cultural identity, drawing upon indigenous traditions, rituals, and collective memory for inspiration.
Utilising a variety of mediums, she crafts visual stories that celebrate African histories, confront cultural erasure, and reestablish connections between modern audiences and ancestral knowledge. Her art explores the interplay between the spiritual and physical realms, employing symbolism, texture, and narrative to honour identity, belonging, and the continuity of culture.
By fusing traditional influences with contemporary artistic techniques, she creates immersive pieces that promote introspection regarding heritage, self-discovery, and the lasting influence of ancestral wisdom in today’s world.
